At least I am still doing it! One of my New Year's resolutions was to start posting to my blog again. Ok, I lied, I have been thinking about it since the previous New Year! Oh well, better late than never. So much has gone on since I stopped posting way back in 2009. I feel as if I have gotten a new lease on life. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes. It has taken me this long to say it out loud. I guess I was kind of afraid to. Did not want to jinx myself. It is time to face that fear. I have been on a journey to Hell and back and I never want to go back to the daily pain that basically crippled me from living. That person a year ago is not me. Looking back, it scares me what would have become of me if it would have gone on much longer. Through the whole ordeal, my husband stood by my side. He is the most wonderful husband. He encouraged me to seek out alternative treatments such as acupuncture and massage. He held my hand when I did not want to go to the doctors again. He shouldered allot of the burden and for that I am eternally grateful. With his, my family's and especially my Father in Heaven's help, I made it through. I feel wonderful! I do admit that sometimes, those old demons come calling but it is less and less and as I get more and more stronger(mentally and physically) I am able to chase them away. I think admitting this to the world, is a great next step in my healing. Thanks for reading.

Now enough said about that! I am going to try an post at least once a week(lofty goal, I know!) I hope you will stay tuned!Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-3739324924574764322009-03-29T21:03:00.000-07:002009-03-29T21:22:32.320-07:00HikingJamie and I being the brave (or stupid) souls we are, took the children to Red Rock for a hike. The kids actually did great. We went on a 4 mile(round trip) hike up to the La Madre Springs. Autumn tried to pick up every rock she could. It was too cute. We hiked up to a little spring in the mountains and a small dam where animals go to drink. I love to hike at Red Rock. After our hike, we treated the kids to Old Nevada and Bonnie Springs. For dinner, we met the hubbies and Dad Gibbons at the Fiesta for a buffet. It was a fun day! Splish Splash we were taking a bath!
The kids went thru the mine at Old Nevada about 50 times!
Merrily, merrily a hiking we will go!
Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-14841955400618611792009-02-27T22:04:00.000-08:002009-02-27T22:25:33.052-08:00It's been awhile<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vHbd6dbmhbE/SajYw6cSCvI/AAAAAAAAAG8/RZNN_j_R-Pg/s400/012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307730495689329394" />
I know I have been so delinquent with my blog! Jim, was rearended by a drunk driver at work on January 24. He was on light duty since then and finally got to go back to full duty tonight. I am grateful for the time that he got to spend with us, going to church and actually being home for my birthday! That was the good that came out of the accident. Just wanted to wish my little Auti a Happy Birthday yesterday. I can't believe she is one! This year has flown by. Autumn is a sweet spirit. After giggling at the dogs for a bit Ellie asked me "Daddy, why do some people take their dogs everywhere they go?" I replied "I don't know honey." Ellie then thought for a second and stated "I guess they do it because they don't have a boyfriend!"Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-51583676888366787382008-11-03T14:40:00.000-08:002008-11-03T14:56:53.043-08:00HalloweenSo Halloween was a blast this year! Every year my mom likes to have a Halloween party and this year we did it on All Hallows Eve! I even dressed up this year. Take a look!

Ok, so I was trying to be Punky Brewster. Ellie started Kindergarten and Cheyenne started 5th grade (yikes! only one year until junior high!) Cheyenne loves her new teacher, Mrs. Reynolds and is so excited about the upcoming year. Ellie had a rough first day. She kept telling us that she was nervous. I guess that translated into her not eating enough at lunch and then having low blood sugar. on the way home from school, she burst into tears and said that she got into trouble and the teacher "yelled" at her. Well, after getting a snack in her, the true story came out. The teacher asked the kids to be quiet and it scared Ellie and so she cried. Long story short, she went back the next day and has been great about school since. POTATO THIEF ON THE LOOSE!I thought it would be my civic responsibility to notify everyone that there has been a potato thief spotted in the vicinity of my kitchen. The thief's M.O. is unbearable cuteness and an uncanny ability to stop you in your tracks with just one giggle! If you have been around her for any amount of time you know that she has this uncanny ability to say the funniest things! She is always crackin us up. Some things she says just make you wonder what is going on in that mind of hers! I would love to write a children's book about her silly sayings(not the bad words of course!) If you have experienced any of Ellie's Elliisms please leave a comment and let me know. I will add it to the list.
Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-30812213975083224422008-07-23T21:23:00.000-07:002008-11-12T22:28:36.629-08:00MY GRANDMA IS 98!My Grandma Prince turned 98 years old on July 21.
So our dilemma was what to get my grandma for her birthday. We decided upon a bird feeder and bird seed. She loves to watch the birds from her bedroom. Well, we went to visit her and she was dressed up so pretty and out of her bed! I cannot imagine living to 98 years but I am glad that my children get to know their great-grandma. She has many family and friends that cherish her very much and you could tell by the pile of presents that were in her living room! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-42400264998436408012008-07-18T21:44:00.000-07:002008-11-12T22:28:36.731-08:00The Dark Knight
Jim and I went to see The Dark Knight today. It was awesome! Definitely not a movie for children. Heath Ledger played the Joker very well. He was so evil! I wonder if playing this part lead to his death? It makes one wonder. Unlike some people who where in the theater to see the Joker, I was there to see Batman. The movie made me think about how evil the world is becoming and how sometimes evil is glorified. The movie also was about making the right choices and doing the right things even when they are not easy. But mostly I thought about my Batman , Jim. We have an inside joke that Jim is Batman. I think he is alot like that. He puts his life on the line every time he goes to work so that our city is safe for all of us. Some of the things he sees and has to do is very hard but he does it anyway. He is my hero!
Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-35823181828889136992008-06-24T15:47:00.000-07:002008-11-12T22:28:37.038-08:00Autumn @ 6 months

Auti had her six month checkup today. The worst part was waking up from the anesthesia. Nausea and the shakes definitely suck! I got through the two days with big tampons up my nose and now just have the splints. They definitely don't feel comfortable. Now I just have to endure basically three weeks of not doing much. That is going to be the hard part! I am going to try and learn this blog stuff. Who knows, I might figure it out!Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5183189458211350845.post-40134845189832646572008-06-06T19:15:00.000-07:002008-06-06T19:19:09.810-07:00TryinWell I am trying to get this blog thing going. I will probably have more time after my surgery. I am going in on June 16 for sinus surgery. It scares me to death but I really have no other choice. After the surgery is what is really going to stink. I cannot bend over, lift heavy objects or nothing for three weeks. I can't exercise, or go out of town for six weeks! Hopefully it will go by quickly!Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05081242824037355736noreply@blogger.com0
